Merry Christmas!!

It's been such a wonderful day, we're so blessed. Christmas started for us last night, we headed to Nan Nan & Pawpaw's to see everyone. It's always so chaotic and fun there. Mykenzie was begging to open presents the whole time, it's so much fun to torture her. Cade and Nate still didn't quite get that those presents laying around were for them. Though it didn't take long once the gift unwrapping began.

Cade's favorite was his dreamlite. It's a giraffe that puts light, in the shape of stars on the ceiling. He woke up several times asking for it. Nathaniel, on the other hand, acted like a caged animal last night. He was wound up after we got home. Cade fell asleep on the way home, so did Nate, but he woke up and ran in circles for what felt like hours. It was early, but Santa had stuff to do!
This morning went mostly according to plan. I woke early, got dressed and slowly Cade woke up and made his way to the living room. He was so excited to see his "Blue Mountain Mystery" set up in the floor along with "The Shake Shake Bridge." The boys played with one thing and another until time for breakfast and MomMom & PopPop's.

We had a great time with the rest of the family. The boys really racked up, again we are so very blessed. Cade was the best boy today, we could all tell he was so tired, but he didn't fuss any. It made me very proud. Speaking of proud, I just love it when Cade prays over our food. He sat at the table for lunch and ate a ton of stuffing and potatoes and kept asking for more. He even used the same plates and silverware as the big people. He's really growing up, and he's pretty amazing.

One week to Christmas!!!

Everyone ready for Santa??? My kids sure are. I think Cade comes home everyday singing a new song and talking more about Santa. He cracks me up. Last week at Grandpa Asbury's Unc and Cade played with his phone and made this cute video

Deck the Halls

(Hopefully the hyperlink worked-ill check tomorrow)
How about an out take from pics we took at Tab's the other day. We thought it would be cute to take a photo of the grand kids before Christmas. This is what we got. Still a bunch of cuties.

What a Week!!!

We started out the week having birthday lunch with (who Cade now calls) Old PopPop. He's such a blessing. We love celebrating him.

Then of course came Thanksgiving. At least thirty-five people made their way to Aunt Mary & Uncle Bills. I love Thanksgiving, I love catching up with everyone and see all the smiling faces. Noah brought Cade some trains. So their dinner consisted of trains too.

How bout a quick photo op. These boys are fabulous. I couldn't love them any more than I do.

Yesterday we stopped by the train show. Looks to me like about ten different families/people put up their model trains for everyone to enjoy. And enjoy we did. Nathaniel could almost see everything, by next year he should be able to walk around and see them better. As tall as Cade is he still asked to be picked up to get a better look.

After that we headed to Ashland to see their lights. The boys loved them!!!! Cade was so excited, "wow, look at that one! Oooooh, Mommy look there."

It's been a wonderful four days off, I love not working retail. Two years of it made me appreciate every weekend and holiday. I can't imagine those people that have been doing it their whole career. These boys keep us hopping and it's great to spend quality uninterrupted time with them.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Last weekend we headed to the mall to see a movie. Instead we saw Santa Claus. Cade has cried in every photo or we haven't even gotten one. But we saw him and there was no line, so Cade just jumped right in, with some hesitation, and kept repeating, "Broken Bridge." That is something that Thomas the train related and Santa already has it in layaway. Santa was able to get him on his lap and the photographer was able to get him to smile. We were amazed. Now Cade keeps telling us we have to take Nathaniel.

Autumn!!!!

These photos are from a few weeks back. The kids were crazy and the house felt too small so we headed to the park. The kids needed warn out and a good place to run. They had a great time running and "splashing" in the leaves as Cade called it.

Eighteen Months

Can you believe it? Nathaniel's eighteen months old!!!! That of course means time for photos!!! I love pictures of my babies, they'll go so great in my NEW office (more on that later).
Nathaniel is the best baby ever. He has a few allergies and can get pretty snotty, but that doesn't keep him down. He runs and dances all the time. If his big brother takes a toy from him, if finds another or fights back and scares the day lights out of Cade (quality entertainment at our house). He is a little attached to his pacifier, but hey, he won't have it forever. He laughs at Cade and mimics him, just last night Cade told me he wanted a chicken nugget, repeated by Nathaniel. He's quite the little mocking bird.
He's great and we couldn't be more blessed. We went to the park Saturday to have Aunt Kristi get some priceless pics. He was all over the place. Nathaniel saw an open field and ran for it. We just let him, it was bare and open and warm. Makes my heart smile.
Here's a few of just Nathaniel, I'll try to do some quick pic updates over the next few days to keep you smiling and remind everyone what we look like.

Happy Halloween!!!

So it's been a loooooooong two weeks. Here's a run down:
Monday-Friday (10/22-10/26): Insurance School
Thursday/Friday: Test drive & purchase new vehicle (yay!!!!)
Saturday: Cade initiated the new car (puke)
Sunday night thru Tuesday: Kids & Mommy tummy virus (seriously? Again? Annoying)
Tuesday: Snow!!!!!!!!
Wednesday & Thursday: Daddy tummy virus and residual kids tummy issues
Thursday: LICENSING EXAM (enough to poop your pants w/o having a tummy virus)
Thursday Night: Trick or Treat

What did I tell ya? Long. Good report, everyone is mostly better and I passed my exam. I was super shocked. I went with every notion of failing. Thinking I would go see what it was like and re-test next week. I'll happily accept my results and go on with my new future.

The kids are great. Even in their sickness they are still happy and fun. We didn't plan to trick or treat but we did head up Nanny & Pa's street just to say hi to a few people.

Nate is chattering more everyday and Cade is proving to me he knows his letters and is practicing writing them on the iPad.

Our life is pretty sweet right now and we are very grateful.

What? How Long's it Been?

So yeah, it's hectic round our house these days. With a three year old and an 18 month old. Yeah, good times. This week has been a bit more crazy. Mommy is in insurance school. Insurance school, easy right? Well let me tell you, if it was easy everyone would have a license. It's been the most torturous four days (so far) ever. I am in nonstop insurance mode.
Wake up before Joe leaves for work (that's early)
Class 8:30 to 5:00
45 minute drive home
Eat
Study, study, study
Sleep and dream of homeowners, perils, endorsements PAP, BOA...

It hasn't been easy, but I know it'll be worth it. I still have to pass the exam, which I put off till next week.
Joe has really helped out a lot. After the first night I think he saw it was gonna be tough, but maybe deep down he was thinking license equals money and money equals new taylormades, just kidding.
On a side note, that is TMI, Cade has done very well with pottying, even pooping (told ya TMI). Cross your fingers! We're close to underwear all the time!!!!!
Here's a pic, just because I can't leave ya with out one...now back to my class

Quick Pic

I took a few photos of Nate being silly, you know himself. He was on the ottoman with a huge grin, knowing he was doing something he shouldn't have been. Those pics didn't come out tho. So here's his silly grin...

This is him. passed out. on the floor. Yip, the floor. Every night this week.

Boo Boo

Cade got his first real scraped knee.  It happened before Mommy got home.  He was playing in the driveway is the only story I got from them.  He was quite pitiful when I got home, not letting Daddy move and refusing to move his leg.  I convinced him to let me take his shoes off and Daddy tried to clean it a bit before that.  I figured I'd just let him have his moment.  We ate dinner, then I bribed him to walk with some M&M's (my go to bribe treat).
He eventually got up after we finished watching the movie we had on and started walking.  It took quite a bit convincing to get him in the shower, really it was more like, "I bet you can't_________"  It gets him every time.    I threw in a photo of Nate too, just so you didn't think we forgot about him, he got his hands on an M&M.  It apparently matched his shirt....and his eyes.  He's kinda crazy and keeps us laughing all the time!

Quick Pic

We took Cade to the movies today. It was his first time. He loved it. Fortunately it was one we knew he liked. I'm not sure when we go to the next one and it's one he hasn't seen if it will go as well.
We made him potty before, during and after: he's doing great with the potty. When I say great I mean, he's no where near potty trained but we have a lot less accidents.
London met us at the movies with her mommy and daddy. She just got back from Disney World. Cade has been seriously missing her.

All in all the movies were a success. But we wont dare talk about the melt down that followed...
That was quickly followed by a nap.

Great Grandpa & Muriel!!!

Wow! Last weekend was such a wonderful weekend!!!!  I'm sorry that I waited so long to post.  I took a few photos, but just couldn't narrow down the candids...So for now we'll get the goods out there.
Friday we anxiously met Great Grandpa, Muriel, Uncle Jim, Aunt Ann, PopPop, MomMom & Unc for dinner.  It was so great.  There's nothing like seeing everyone...especially all smiles everyone.  I even smile just thinking about it.  We chattted for a bit, but knew it was getting late and we'd see everyone the next day.  Saturday I hear, the Sullivans went for a tour of Huntington, saw all the sights and whatnots.  Maybe not as interesting as St Petersburg, but certainly more than some other places I've been.  We met again for dinner that night and got to share with the whole family.  That was even better.  The room was full of love, laughter and joy.  It was great seeing everyone interacting and having pure happiness for just a little while. PopPop welcomed all the new ones to the family and soon we were all laughing and watching the kids have a good time.

All of our children are growing so quickly, its hard to get a handle on it.  Saying to Great Grandpa, "here's the little one," knowing, he's not so little.  Sure they have a long way head, but no where near as innocent and sweet as it was.  Though we'll enjoy every moment, even the tough ones, hmmmm on second thought.

So- for memories sake lets list everyone we shared our love with that night:
Great Grandpa, Muriel, PopPop, MomMom, Unc, Kristi, Uncle Jim, Aunt Ann, Mommy, Daddy, Cade, Nathaniel, PaPaw, Uncle Ivan, Aunt Tracy, Justin, Sarah, John & Alyson

Cheese

Wow! Nathanie is sure growing up! It seems in just a weeks time he has changed or learn new things by leaps and bounds.  Yesterday he stood in front of the camera sitting on the table and said, "cheese."  Where did he learn that? When did he learn that?  Time is sure passing quickly with these two boys and we're trying to soak up every minute of it!

Here's a photo op of the boys at the kids table Michael and I use to sit at...
and mom when she was that age too!!!

I hope he loves bubbles forever,
ok, maybe not forever,
but for a long time.
I love them and I love that he's still young enough to love them!

Just the Three(...Scratch that) the Four of Us

So of course getting everyone into the picture is always an issue.  We do try to set the timer and get the four of us, but it usually turns out with someone cyring or trying to escape.  I do plan for a family photo when Nathaniel's next photo session comes up, but until then we'll enjoy those quick ones they take at the zoo...

And knowing that my children will one day like to see that I got out from behind the camera I try to hand Joe the camera often.  It doesn't always work out for us, but we try.

And as often as I can I'll take as many of these photos as I can...
cause i love them...
lots and lots.
