(They changed this website around a little, and it should be easier to maneuver- but I'm still getting use to it. Therefore, with my abundance of photos, I will be posting several different posts-so keep an eye out for all of them.)
At the end of April we spent a weekend in Columbus for Cade's birthday. With me getting a new job we knew it would be a while before we could head out of town for any length of time. We couldn't wait to celebrate Cade's birthday at the zoo.
We stopped a little diner on the way for lunch. Cade loved it, with photos of old cars he thought we were at FLO's V8 Cafe like in Cars. (I wish we hadn't been so wet -it rained a lot while were packing and driving - and hungry so I wouldn't have been starving and anxious to eat and just pick some random 'go to' food from the menu.) BUT we did get some dessert, afterall we were out for Cade's birthday **wink wink**
We when arrived at the Gabriels it looked like birthday fairy had been there!!! Cade was in heaven. He was sooooo excited!
We got settled into our room, aka turned the air on high
so it wouldn't be stuffy or hot when we got back that evening.
Nathaniel enjoyed that...
After dinner we tried to play outside for a bit, but it was just too chilly.
Breakfast in Bed
We went directly to the zoo and of course directly to the elephants. After a few attempts of trying to get through the barriers we convinced Cade we needed to watch them far away. I think he could stand there all day. It was a little chilly while we were there, but that never stops us.
Birthday Picnic at the Zoo
we're so blessed- who gets to do that!?!
We did get to vist the awesome Aunt Margureite after the zoo, but my photos are so great of that. I'm not sure she'll know how much I love her and wish I could visit more often. I absolutely adore listening to her talk. Her voice brings me lots of memories from way back and fills my mind and heart with joy.
After a nap and a hotel switch (from an earlier issue) we set out for dinner with Aunt Ann & Uncle Jim who had finally made it back in town. It was a good evening, much too short, but we go with the kids moods and when they're grumpy/tired/wore out its time to go.
Before we left the next day we ate at Red Robins, where I let Cade have a milkshake for lunch.
(He was having one of those weeks that he wasn't eating- it happens- kids are weird sometimes.) He shared some of my fries, but spent most of the time playing with his new trucks and trains he had accumlated on the trip from Aunt Ann & Uncle Jim.
Though there were very few photos of Nathaniel,
I promise he was there and enjoyed every moment like the rest of us.
