Thanksgiving Lunch

Yes, it was already time for Thanksgiving lunch at school. MomMom and I shared a meal with Cade and his friends (and their families). It was wonderful. So many smiles, so many blessings.

Saturday!!!!

We love Saturdays. I may have worked retail for only a short time, but I can't tell you, I appreciate Saturdays. If we can remember (or convince daddy) we eat at ChickFilA. The boys love it. The boys wake up early, and the best thing about that is having the play land to ourselves. But today, finally, we got to see London and her mommy. We were stoked, but London and her mommy don't get moving quite as quickly as we do, but we did meet them at ChickFilA today. They said they may even meet us next week too.
We even ran to the mall (today was Marshall homecoming and London and her mommy were going to the game- they needed to get some accessories.)
Here's a couple of pics I snapped....

Sum It Up

It's been a while. I'm sorry. These boys are crazy and we are crazy busy. That's not really an excuse, but it is. I know things will get even crazier as time goes on, and we will do our best to enjoy every minute of it. We're having internet issues at home, proving more difficult to get photos out there.

Cade loves school. He has homework every night, and he loves it. He loves to learn and he loves to show how smart he is. It's amazing the things they're learning. He's in kindergarten and while he's learning his numbers, he's learning math.

Nate is one funny kid. He's a bear, but we know how to handle him- and when we don't we just try to figure it out. Nanny broke her knee, so Nate's been going to the babysitter everyday. A few days MomMom had to step in and watch him, I'm sure she was worn out those evenings.

Without further adieu---PHOTOS

We took the boys to the barber. They did really well despite their protests.

We've hit up quite a few parks in the last few weeks.

One week, we even ate breakfast at the playground.

We even went to a Frozen birthday party, where Elsa joined us.

Just yesterday, we played some football.

Wednesday, August 13, 2014

Let's date this, August 10, for when I wrote it, but it wouldn't load.....

It's been over a month since I've posted. For that I'm sorry. We've been a little busy, but that's no excuse.
The best news out of the last month is Nate is potty trained. That's awesome. No diapers. No stinky trash. No more $$$ for diapers. No panic that we've used the last diaper.
In other big news, Cade started kindergarten. What a whirlwind, such a change. MomMom and I sat through orientation while Cade played on the playground. He was so excited to see his friends from his old school.
Though his first real day of school may have been a little too exciting for him. The teacher put him in the wrong group, and he ended up on a bus...while MomMom was waiting outside for him. Fortunately if you're in kindergarten, the bus driver doesn't let you off the bus if your parent isn't there. So Cade ended up back at school and safely with MomMom. He still loved school, but says he doesn't want to get on the bus again.
I stocked the cabinets and fridge today for school lunches. This is a first. I'm kind of excited. I hope he likes it.
Needless to say it's been an emotional week. Now, I didn't cry when it came to Cade's school, but I also didn't have to drop him off and leave him. Today I went through some clothes of the boys and was a little sad. I keep one tote out and when I see one of the kids have grown out of something I throw it in. It keeps things from getting washed over and over again, or taking up space in the drawers. After accumulating a couple of totes I needed to go through them to see what needed to be a hand me down and what needed to be a donation. I like to keep the boys keepsakes limited to one tote. I found a few things to add to the box. It's just sad that we're getting so far away from baby, but it's a good thing too. I try not to linger on missing their baby status and enjoy the age/growing status. It's tough, especially seeing their hospital clothes or my favorite onesies/pajamas.
Nate's bed is ready for use. He's on his second night of it. Yes, he's three and has been sleeping in a playpen. He likes it there and I know he's safe. I got a rail for his bed so we'd know he was alright and he loves it. (See? No more baby.)

Quick "Trip"

You thought I was going to say, "quick pic" didn't you!!!
Well this will be short and sweet. We made a run to the west end today, which usually means we drive back through Harvey Town. There's a few trains sitting there and it's always nice to point to with the boys. Well this time, we saw people there. A quick u turn later, joe found out if was free and able to your the trains. We were able to go into a Diesel engine, coal engine and two cabooses. The bis loved it. They were even able to ring the bell in one of them. Cade was a little hesitant, not Nate of course and once Nate did it, Cade was able to sneak over and do it while we were distracted. It was quick, but fun and the boys loved it. There was a model train that chugged around one of the large locomotives, they loved it and could have watched it all day.

Catch Up!!!!!!

We've had quite a few events since I blogged a real blog. I'm sorry. No excuses. I've tried posting, even got as far as typing one up, one step away from posting, hit the wrong part of the screen.....and lost it all. I was aggravated. But that's not an excuse.

First, a birthday, a fifth one actually. Can you believe it? Cade's five. He's awesome. He's hilarious. He's sensitive. He adapts to any situation, taking lead or following to learn. Cade's having a tough time naming letters, but he recognizes them, and knows what words they match. He loves to sing and dance. He LOVES games. He's quite hilarious and always has something new to say. Cade loves to snuggle. He's loves to love.

Cade also graduated from preschool. It was cute. A little sad, but it's time for bigger and better things. He's ready.

A quick pic from Mother's Day at church.....

How about this pretty family on Mother's Day, they were too cute not to take a family photo.

On Mother's Day we celebrated another birthday, a third one to be exact. Nate, I think we'll keep him. Nathaniel's is quite funny and at times silly. If it's his idea, his smile and laugh is bigger than everyone's else's. But if he's not in the mood you're hard pressed to get a smile. He's extremely strong willed. He's forceful, he knows what he wants. Nate knows just how to press his big brother's buttons, and most of the time very one else's. He thinks he wants to pee pee in the potty, but he doesn't want it to interrupt his play time. He catches on to everything. He's very smart. Nate would eat a hot dog for very meal if he could, and has.

I'll leave it at that for now. Life is great, a little difficult at times...but that's what makes us enjoy it even more.
